Knights Ranks and Responsibilities
Precentor Marshall
The Precentor Marshall is in charge of the Knights, all orders come from the Precentor. The Precentor must keep the account books for the Knights and make application to the Nation leader for funds to pay the Knights and stock the smithy and keep and make sure the Knights are properly financially stable. (The Knights do not seek to make profit, money is used only for living expenses and expenses incurred in the defense of the people and protection of the nation).The Precentor is also in charge of passing out assignments, monthly pay and work details. A full report is made to the Nation Leader every month with updates on the roster, activity reports, patrol reports, and state of the nation information. Populace mood and word of mouth reports are also in the Precentor's monthly report.
First Knight
In the instance of Official Absence of the Precentor Marshall (i.e. LOA, out of the Nation) The First Knight is in charge of the Knights and his/her duties become those listed under the Precentor Marshall. Also, First Knight is responsible to make a monthly report on general morale among the Knights, report needs that might arise and to keep the Precentor informed of activities.
Training Officer
This Knight must be an Artisan, preferably a Carpenter or Mason. The training officer is in charge of seeing to the training of the Knights. Assigning duties of individual Knights to train aspirants in everyday duties. To coordinate aspirants with supervisors for repairs to buildings, roads, etc. in the nation. Also, the training officer must make a monthly report on aspirant progress, updating Knight training, informing the Precentor of special training needs as they arise, etc.
Cavalry Knights
Once an aspirant is past the basic introductory training phase, in which the aspirant helps with the repairs and construction of buildings and roads etc., and the training officer deems the aspirant is ready, an aspirant may make application to join the cavalry. The cavalry is a division of mounted Knights trained in the special mounted fighting skills (jousting, mounted swordsmanship, mounted battle formation, etc.) These Knights are provided with a mount if they do not already have one. The aspirant then takes on the additional duties of raising, training and caring for their mount, as well as training in the regular Knights fashion, and the training duties assigned to all aspirants.
Knights Arms Master
This Knight must have an Artisan class of Armorer, Weaponsmith, or Blacksmith. This Knight has the discretion to appoint a blacksmith, weaponsmith or armorer(provided he is not one himself) to assist in his duties and to make sure the armor, weapons and blacksmithing needs of the Knights are met (This includes the shooing of cavalry mounts). This Knights duty is to make, repair and restore the specialty armor and weapons used for the knights and the aspirants. The Arms Master must make a monthly report on inventory, spare armor, spare weapons, and raw materials on hand, to insure that the Knights smithy is always properly stocked.
