Tennets of Knighthood

As an aspirant one learns that once commited to be a Knight of Unicorn Crest,
a person must follow the tennets of Knighthood, they are as follows:

1. A Knights first duty shall be to the people, regardless of their status, wealth, condition or station.

2. A Knight must uphold the law, except where to do so would put an innocent in danger.

3. A Knight must always obey a direct order from his/her superior, except when to do so would put an innocent life in danger.

4. A Knight must be loyal to the order always, and to be loyal to the order, a Knight  must always be loyal to the people he/she has sworn to protect.

5. A Knight must uphold the vow.

6. A Knights orders come directly from the Precentor Marshall.

7. A Knight must be honest with his/her fellow knights. Mistrust only breeds contempt.

8. All disputes are to be brought to the immediate attention of the Precentor Mashall.

9. A Knight must never pull a weapon except as a last and final resort.

10. In an emergency situation, a Knight must use his/her own best judgement, to this end, a Knight may receive leniency for an alleged crime.

11. Should a Knight be found in breach of any point of the vow, a law, or a tennet of knighthood, they will immediately be brought before a court marshall by his/her brethren. The Precentor Marshall shall preside as judge in these situations. Once all parties are heard and the matter is debated, a vote shall be taken with all Knights having an equal vote. Majority rules. In the event of a tie, the Precentor Marshall shall have the deciding vote. The only exception to this rule is in cases where the punishment for being found guilty, is death for the Knight in question. This vote MUST be unanimous. The votes for death are cast in secret by all members of the knighthood, and an impartial body is brought in to tally the votes. Once counted, the impartial body passes the final verdict to the Precentor Marshall who then reads it aloud to the accused and all knights present. Once the verdict is presented all votes are destroyed, keeping the vote anonymous. Should even one vote be something other than death, then, the Precentor Marshall decides the final punishment. Votes in court marshalls are final and should not be taken lightly.
